At Hamburg City Cycles in St. Pauli, you can rent a bike to explore Hamburg at your own pace. Ride a city bike or e-bike along the Elbe, around the Alster or through Hamburg’s neighbourhoods.

For trips with children or larger loads, we also offer children’s bikes, child trailers, child seats and cargo bikes. Reserve your bike online or ask us for help choosing a suitable bike in our shop.

You can book rentals of up to 7 days online with instant confirmation. The booking calendar shows live availability: if a bike is bookable online, it is available. Want to rent a bike for more than 7 days? Get in touch – we arrange longer rentals for you on request.

Collection and return

Monday to Saturday: rental shop open from 9:30 am to 6 pm.

Sunday: the rental shop closes at 2:30 pm. Collection from 9:30 am.

On Sundays, you can return rented bikes until 6 pm. We explain the return procedure when you collect your bike.

Collect your bike from Hamburg City Cycles in St. Pauli, Gebrüder-Wolf-Platz (Hopfenstraße 15b).

Quick answers: bike rental in Hamburg

Is insurance included in the rental price?

Yes. Insurance against damage and theft is already included in the rental price at Hamburg City Cycles. There is no extra charge. The excess is €75 for city bikes, €350 for e-bikes and €600 for cargo bikes.

Our rental terms apply: lock your bike to a fixed object and report any theft immediately to the police and to us. In cases of gross negligence, liability is not limited to this excess.

Which extras are included free of charge?

At Hamburg City Cycles, helmets, baskets, phone holders, a city map and personal route tips are included free of charge. The bike locks are already permanently fitted to the bikes.

Are bikes shown as bookable online actually available?

Yes. Our booking calendar shows live availability. If you can book a bike online for your chosen rental period, it is available. Rentals of up to 7 days can be booked online with instant confirmation.

Can I rent a bike for more than 7 days?

Yes. Longer rental periods are also possible at Hamburg City Cycles. Get in touch – we arrange your booking for you on request.

What do I need to bring when collecting my bike?

Bring a valid identity document. Collect your bike from Hamburg City Cycles in St. Pauli at Gebrüder-Wolf-Platz (Hopfenstraße 15b).
