People whisper that Wilhelmsburg is on the rise. On this bike tour through the Old Elbe Tunnel at the Landungsbrücken to Wilhelmsburg, we’ll show you what’s up. The fact is that a lot has changed in recent years. And that there is still a lot to tell about Wilhelmsburg.

The bike tour starts in St. Pauli, from there it goes through the historic Old Elbe Tunnel in the direction of Veddel and to the largest inland island in Germany called Wilhelmsburg. We pass the “Alster of the South” and cycle along the Wilhelmsburg Dove Elbe to the newly designed centre of Wilhelmsburg. There we will show you the grounds of IBA Hamburg, where the International Building Exhibition was held until 2013. At the end of the tour we will drive along the Verig Canal with a stop at the converted energy bunker back towards St. Pauli. This tour is interesting even for Hamburgers, because there is probably no other district of Hamburg where so much is changing so quickly. Wilhelmsburg, which had fallen into oblivion at the time, has finally been rediscovered and is now in the midst of its blossoming, where amazing residential and urban projects are being developed between flora and fauna.
